I have two potential locales lined up:
The Doctors' compound at 1014-22 Dumaine, French Qtr
Got permission from Dr. Brobson Lutz to use the courtyard areas, and permission to use one of the apartments, from the occupant, Johnny Walker
(Brobson has a dinner party Sat nite and does not want us in the main house all day)
Grounds include restored historic bldgs, shady courtyard, freeform swimming pool, raised overlook area, gazebo, neon signs, great landscaping
I think: great for romantic comedy, maybe spooky enough in the shaded areas and alleys, lovers in the pool, drowning at the pool, falling from balconies, historic costume piece, could dress courtyard to look like an outdoor cafe...
The apartment is fairly compact, but it has living/dining/kitchen/bath below and a loft bedroom (spiral stair)
Could probably arrange to have Johnny show you around if you want to scope it out
He says Playboy mag has done some shoots there
